Colibri at KI Festival, Heilbronn

Colibri and the Carl Laemmle Institut will be exhibiting at the KI Festival in Heilbronn, hosted by the IPAI Foundation. The festival makes AI tangible for a broad audience – we'll show how local, privacy-first AI can make media archives accessible and searchable for everyone, from journalists and researchers to families and cultural institutions.

Colibri at the Baden-Württemberg Pavilion, German Unity Day, Bremen

The Staatsministerium Baden-Württemberg has invited Colibri to present at the Baden-Württemberg pavilion during the national German Unity Day celebrations in Bremen, held under the motto “Viele Stärken – ein Land”. In a live demo, films from Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg and material provided by the Staatsministerium will be made searchable with Colibri – showing several hundred thousand visitors what local, privacy-first AI can do for public and cultural archives. A great opportunity and a real honour for us.

Upcoming Event October 7–11, 2026

Colibri at the Frankfurt Book Fair – THE LÄND / Baden-Württemberg booth

As part of the CONTENTshift TOP 6, Colibri will be presented at the Baden-Württemberg “THE LÄND” booth at the Frankfurt Book Fair. It is also where the CONTENTshift Award 2026 is decided: the finalists pitch on 8 October, with the winner announced on stage the same day. Come by to see local, privacy-first AI for media archives in action.

Colibri selected as a CONTENTshift TOP 6 startup

Out of more than 50 applications, Colibri has been selected as one of the six finalists of CONTENTshift 2026 – the accelerator that brings young companies together with decision-makers from the publishing and media world. The programme is initiated by the Börsenverein Baden-Württemberg and funded by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour and Tourism Baden-Württemberg through the Start-up BW campaign, with MFG Medien- und Filmgesellschaft Baden-Württemberg running the state's booth at the Frankfurt Book Fair and mediacampus frankfurt as training partner for the publishing industry. Its jury brings together publishing and retail leaders from houses such as Ravensburger, Hugendubel, Springer Nature and Verlag Herder.

Colibri at FMX 2026, Stuttgart

Colibri and the Carl Laemmle Institut exhibited at the FMX Marketplace in Stuttgart. FMX brings together the global animation, VFX and immersive media community – the perfect place to show how local AI can transform media asset management for creative productions. We gave live demos of intelligent analysis, transcription, translation and semantic search across production archives.

Virtual Production Gathering
Past Event April 14–16, 2026

Colibri at Virtual Production Gathering, Breda

We joined the VP Marketplace during the Virtual Production Gathering at Breda University of Applied Sciences. We demonstrated how Colibri's local AI can help VFX and virtual production teams manage, search and explore large media libraries – from on-set footage to 360 plates and backdrops – without cloud dependencies or data leaving the studio.

Beta
Milestone April 2026

Beta Program Announced

Colibri opens applications for its beta program. The upcoming beta will include image description, transcription, translation, face recognition and semantic search – all running locally on macOS. Interested users can now sign up for early access.

KI Salon Presentation
Past Event March 2026

Colibri at KI Salon Heilbronn

We presented Colibri at the KI Salon in Heilbronn, hosted by IPAI, in front of around 120 participants. Live demos showed image, video and audio analysis, transcript generation, and semantic search – all running locally on-device. The discussions afterward revealed strong interest in data sovereignty for archives, journalism, media production and internal knowledge management, and led to promising new contacts.

Prototype
Milestone Autumn 2025

Prototype Complete

The first working vertical prototype of Colibri demonstrates the full pipeline: import, AI analysis and search. Core features include automatic tagging, transcription and a semantic search engine – all running on-device.

Filmakademie Cooperation Signing
Partnership July 2025

Cooperation Agreement with Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg

A formal cooperation agreement has been signed between Colibri and Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg. Signed by Dr. Andreas Bareiss (FABW managing director) and Jonas Trottnow, the partnership focuses on practical development and testing of Colibri's privacy-first AI tools for media analysis. The Animationsinstitut's R&D team serves as a test environment and development partner.

Built for media professionals, journalists, researchers and cultural institutions.
