About the Founder
Jonas Trottnow is a R&D oriented computer scientist with a strong relation to movie productions.
He was working as engineer in the research & development of the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg (Germany) in the EU funded project SAUCE and is still working as contact person for the regional ‘KI-Lab Animation & VFX’ bringing Artificial Intelligence closer to VFX- & Animationstudios.
Coming from a documentary film making family background, he was already highly interested in photography, cinematography and image processing in early ages.
He then studied media & computer science at the University of Tübingen with a specialization in computer vision and computer graphics to get to know more about the algorithms that he had used for several years. Parallel to his studies he was also camera operator on a couple of documentary films.
With his gained knowledge in computer vision and computer graphics he was hired by the R&D team of the animation institute at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg. He first wrote his bachelor theses there as intern and was afterwards employed as R&D engineer in the international, EU funded project Dreamspace.
Beginning in autumn 2015 he joined the master degree course “Visual Computing” at the University of Saarland where he continued to work in the Dreamspace project for the DFKI (German research center for artificial intelligence) and the Intel Visual Computing Institute on the Campus of University of Saarland.
In early 2018 he finished my master of science in the field of visual computing (computer vision & computer graphics).
